India is trailing by 0-1 in the ongoing five-match Test series as they lost the first Test by 28 runs last week. While the Three Lions have announced their playing XI, the Asian side has decided to keep their cards close to their chest. Meanwhile, ahead of the second Test, we will discuss three reasons why India must play only four bowlers.

Three reasons why India must play only four bowlers

1. England believes in scoring the most runs in fewer overs

Since the former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum joined the team as the head coach of the Test team, the team has been scoring at the run rate of 5-6 per over. In some of the games, the team has managed to get 500 runs in a single, a record in the longest format. In this pursuit of scoring the most runs in fewer overs. there might be a chance in which the team might get bowled out for a low score. In such a case, having a fifth bowler is just another luxury. Rather than a fifth bowler, the team can play with an extra bowler.

2. Wicket in Vizag is expected to spin

As Vishakhapatnam is a coastal area in India, the wicket is expected to help the spinners and also, there will be some moisture in the air. As the bowlers will be in the game throughout the game, having a longer batting will be the way to go. If there is a collapse, the long batting line-up with seven batters including the wicketkeeper will help either of the team. England has taken such a call in the playing XI for the next game.

3. India can play Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan together

India has included Rajat Patidar (Virat Kohli's replacement) and Sarfaraz Khan (KL Rahul's replacement) in the team. With only four bowlers in the team, Patidar and Khan can play together.
