India Women and England Women
The Indian women's team lost the ODI series 1-2 against England. The team will now try to secure a win in the 3-match T20I series against the English women’s team.
So far, the Indian women’s team has not played their best game. The team almost lost the one-off Test against England. But they displayed immense dedication and talent to pull off a draw.
In the first two ODIs as well, the Indian team lost the game. But the team fought back hard to avoid getting whitewashed and won the third game. Indian captain Mithali Raj had led from the front in all three matches and scored half-centuries.
In the upcoming T20I series, Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the team.

India: Shafali Verma
At 17 years old, Shafali Verma is the number 1 batter in the ICC women’s T20I rankings. In 22 T20I games for India, Verma has made 617 runs at an impressive strike rate of 148.31.
On the England tour, Verma has had an impressive run so far. She was awarded the player of the match in her Test debut against England. Shafali Verma had scored an impressive 96 runs in the first innings and 63 in the second innings. She has shown amazing resolve to make the Indian side win and displayed an immense passion for the game.
In the ODIs, Verma had made 15,44 and 19 runs. She would have liked to do better in the ODI games. But in T20Is, she is expected to raise her game. So far she has been one of the most efficient women batter in the T20I format.
If she can make good runs in the top order, then Verma can help Indian win the series against England.
England: Heather Knight
Captain of the England women’s team, Heather Knight would be one of the key players of the team in the T20I. She has scored 1295 runs in 85 games at a 119.02 strike rate in the T20I format. She has also made a century in the format and four half-centuries.
So far, in the series against India, Knight has performed very well. She made 95 runs in the one-off Test and also picked up three wickets. In the ODIs, she made just 18, 10, and 46 runs in games. She would look forward to giving a good performance in the T20I series.
