The Indian Cricket Board has announced the squad of team India. This team is picked for the T20I series on the upcoming West Indies tour. Earlier, the squad for the ODI series was announced. In a big piece of news, former skipper and senior batter Virat Kohli is not a part of the team in both the ODI and T20I series on the West Indies tour.

Recently, Kohli sustained a groin strain ahead of the commencement of the first ODI against England. As he is still recovering from the injury so he will also miss the second of the three-match ODI series against the hosts.

The team selected for the West Indies has not that much changed in comparison to the one played in England. Although, there are few inclusions in the likes of KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav.

Team India to play T20I series under the leadership of regular skipper Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will be there to be in the role of openers. Keeping the T20I series against England in consideration, skipper Rohit Sharma might go to open the innings with the young wicketkeeper-batter Pant.

There is a total of three specialist wicketkeepers in the squad including the likes of Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, and Dinesh Karthik. Three spin all-rounders have made it to the squad for the three-match T20I series in the Caribbean.

The committee has also picked two specialist spinners in the form of Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav.  Although, BCCI will include Kuldeep after a fitness test.

The Indian team will go in the T20I series with four pacers including senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel. Youngsters Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh will accompany them in the squad. Whereas, the selectors have also picked Hardik Pandya for the role of a pace-bowling all-rounder.

Selectors have a total of 8 specialist batters including KL Rahul. But similar is the case of KL Rahul, his inclusion will also depend on his fitness test.
