Recently, reports emerged that said Sanju Samson fans in Kerala are planning to stage a protest during India vs South Africa T20I. After all, he was omitted from the 15-man squad for the 20-20 World Cup 2022 next month. Now, Samson has been appointed the skipper of the India A team for the three-match unofficial one-day games against New Zealand A. The right-hander has led Rajasthan in the Indian T20 League.
Talking about the team, it has players such as Prithvi Shaw, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Kuldeep Yadav, Rahul Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Rahul Chahar have been included. These players have played for India at the highest level. On the other hand, players such as Tilka Varma and Raj Bawa are former India U19 players. Varma was part of the 2020 U19 World Cup team while Bawa was part of the 2022 team.
