Team India are currently busy in Sydney preparing for the second match of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 against the Netherlands. On 23 October, India kicked off their campaign with a win over arch-rivals Pakistan. Hence, India will look to continue their momentum by winning the second match also. But, ahead of the clash, an unwanted incident happened with team India as per reports.

Several reports are there that team India was not pleased with the after-practice menu on 25 October. Then, a few members decided to have food back in their hotel rooms. Now, the Indian Cricket Board might look to lodge complaints to the Governing Body of Cricket.

"The problem is that the Governing Body of Cricket isn't providing any hot food after lunch.” - Official privy to the development of the Indian Cricket Board

On 25 October, team India had an intense practice session. After that, the players went for lunch. But, they only custom sandwiches along with fruits and falafel. players were expecting a full-course meal as it was lunch time.

"It's not like any boycott... Some players did pick up fruits and falafel but everyone wanted to have lunch and hence they had food going back to the hotel. The problem is that the Governing Body of Cricket isn't providing any hot food after lunch. In a bilateral series, the host association is in charge of catering and they always provide hot Indian meals after a training session. But for Governing Body of Cricket, the rule is the same for all countries," an official privy to the development of the Indian Cricket Board said to PTI.

He added: "You can't just have a cold sandwich (not even grilled) with avocado, tomato, and cucumber after two hours of training. That is plain and simple inadequate nourishment." Even, team India’s players did not go for a training session on 26 October as the field was 42 km far from their hotel.  However, the Men in Blue had an optional practice session on 25 October. So, all the fast bowlers were rested alongside all-rounder Hardik Pandya, batter Suryakumar Yadav, and spinner Axar Patel.
