Indian pacer Umesh Yadav hints at retirement

India's blue-chip pacer Umesh Yadav has always been a very underrated performer for the country during his international career. However, the seamer has matured and evolved as a fast bowler and played a crucial role in India's win, especially in Test cricket. Umesh Yadav was one of the few Indian bowlers who recorded 140 consistently and was immediately fast-tracked to the Indian cricket team. Since then, Umesh Yadav has added several tricks to his bowling arsenal and became a complete fast bowler. Recently, Umesh Yadav stated that he could mostly pull his body for another two to three years. The 33-year-old wants to make a match-winning contribution in the forthcoming World Test Championship final against New Zealand in June.

Umesh Yadav to play for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021

Umesh Yadav has featured in 48 Test matches and is also a part of India's best-ever pace unit. This includes Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. Despite performing well over the last three years, Umesh is not a sure starter in the playing XI, considering the contest has gotten rigid with Mohammed Siraj's arrival.

Siraj made his Test debut during the same Australia series and picked up 13 wickets in three games, at an average of 29.54. The 27-year-old ended the Test series as the highest wicket-taker for India. His accomplishments during the Australia Tour earned him a call-up to the England Test series. However, the series was heavily dominated by the spinners, and he just managed to pick up three wickets in two Tests.

The Vidarbha bowler made his debut for India in 2011. He has so far featured in 48 Tests, 7 T20Is and 75 ODIs. He has scalped 148 Test wickets, 106 ODI wickets and nine in T20Is. The 33-year-old is still highly fit, which is why he is now a regular pick in India's Test team.

Meanwhile, India now has phenomenal fast bowling, which allows them to rotate their bowlers during challenging overseas and home tours. Yadav believes this helps relieve the stress and workload of the bowlers and helps them play for longer. Furthermore, the pacer will now be seen playing for the Delhi Capitals. Delhi Capitals is going to commence their IPL 2021 campaign against Chennai Super Kings on April 10.
