The trend of proposing in front of a large crowd at a stadium has always piqued the public's interest. With its massive fan base, the Indian T20 League has seen couples proposing on numerous occasions inside the stadiums. While many chose to create this moment in private, many don't hesitate to go out in public.
In the recent game between Chennai and Bangalore at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, a proposal caught everyone's attention. A girl went down on one knee to propose to a Bangalore fan. She even handed him a ring, which he gratefully accepted, and they both hugged.
Former Indian opener, Wasim Jaffer took to Twitter to shed light on the incident. The domestic cricket star is known for his witty humour and banter with other players on Twitter. He stated that proposing to a Bangalore fan was a wise option since if a person can remain faithful to the team despite years of disappointment, there is no doubt about his commitment to his partner.
"Smart girl proposing an RCB fan. If he can stay loyal to RCB, he can definitely stay loyal to his partner Well done and a good day to propose," read his tweet.
This, however, is not the first proposal the fans have witnessed in the Indian T20 League. Previously, it was Deepak Chahar who proposed to his girlfriend last year. The pacer, who is unavailable to play this season due to an injury, proposed to his fiancee Jaya Bhardwaj after a game.
Earlier in the ongoing season, another couple was spotted kissing during a game. Reacting to this, fans took the internet by storm. Many suggested that the tournament should be renamed as 'Indian Premiyon ki League'.
