Indian T20 League 2022: 5 Indian players who can come as replacement signings

The players have started joining their teams for the 2022 season of the Indian T20 League. The tournament is all set to go underway on the 26th of March with defending champions Chennai taking on Kolkata. The excitement among the franchises, players, and fans is rising with each passing day. However, cricket is a game of uncertainties. There always is a chance of players getting injured or pulling out of the tournament for other reasons. Here is a list of Indian players that can come in the 2022 season as replacements.

Ishant Sharma

Ishant Sharma has been a great servant to the game, but his T20 game has gone down over the years. He has played over a 100 Test matches and has been great in the longest format. If he can change some of his tactics, he can be an effective T20 bowler as well. The 33-year-old only played four games in the last two seasons for the Delhi team. He was also unsold in the ITL mega auction concluded in February.

Suresh Raina

One of the biggest news that came out of the ITL mega auction was Chinna Thala Suresh Raina going unsold. He has been one of the best players to have represented the tournament. He was a part of the Chennai team for all the years. Raina has a great chance of making it back to the tournament if a player pulls out of the tournament for some reason. The teams would want to benefit from the experience he has been able to gather over the years.

Amit Mishra

The hat-trick king of the Indian T20 League has been a huge part of the tournament and has many achievements to his name. The most prominent achievement is that he has the most hat-tricks in the tournament. The last two seasons, however, have not been the best for him. He did not play too many games, despite being economical and picking a few wickets. If there is an opportunity this season, the teams will look to buy him as a substitute on their team.

Dhawal Kulkarni

Indian seamer, Dhawal Kulkarni has been one of the reliable entertainers for Mumbai in the domestic circuit, and seldom has he failed to meet expectations. The right-arm seamer has monstrous involvement with Indian T20 League also. From making his debut for Mumbai to returning to play for them, he evolved a lot as a player in the tournament. The teams will be enticed to bring the experience of Kulkarni into their side as substitutions.

Piyush Chawla

Teams that Piyush Chawla has represented in the tournament have relied a  lot on him. He has always gotten his teams the best results. However, he has not been a regular in the playing XI for a few years now and was eventually unsold in the mega auction. A leg-spinner with good experience is a very rare commodity, and the teams can look at him if there is availability in any of the squads in the future.
