On March 27, Mumbai and Delhi will face each other at the Brabourne Stadium. The last time both teams met, Delhi won by four wickets against Mumbai in Sharjah. Both teams will be looking forward to starting their campaign with a win. The five-time winners would especially like to win this game.

After 2012, they haven't been able to win their first game of the season. On the other hand, the 2020 finalists would like to repeat their last year's performance. In this listicle, we will discuss five players to watch out for in the Delhi vs Mumbai clash.

Five players to watch out for

1. Prithvi Shaw

Shaw will open the batting for Delhi. The right-hander looked much improved last year compared to his numbers in 2020. Last year, the Mumbai-born amassed 479 runs in 15 games. This year, he will be looking to repeat his last year's performance.

2. Ishan Kishan

The left-hander is the costliest player of the 2022 season (15 crores INR). He will be keen to justify the huge price and the faith put by Mumbai. The Jharkhand player had a dream season in 2020, with 516 runs in 14 games and the team won their fifth title. However, he couldn't perform the same way in the next season with only 241 runs in 10 matches.

3. Tim David

The Singapore-born player is coming off an explosive season with the bat for Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The right-hander amassed 278 runs in 11 games, averaging 39.71 and striking at 194.40. Just like Kishan, he also has a point of justifying his price tag as he was bought at 8.25 crores INR.

4. Shardul Thakur

Famous as 'Lord Shardul Thakur', the Mumbai all-rounder is having a great time in the game since January 2021. Thakur contributed to numerous win for India in the last 14 months. This year, he was bought at 10.75 crores. With the knack for winning games for a team, he will be the one to watch out for against Mumbai.

5. Rishabh Pant

The skipper of the Delhi team has been one of the mpst consistent performers for the team. In 2018, the left-hander amassed 684 runs in 14 games. Since then, he has been scoring more than 300 to 400 runs every year. With the added responsibility of leadership, he would love to raise his performance.
