On March 6, the Indian T20 League governing council announced the schedule of the upcoming season. The league will start on March 26, with the opening game between last year's finalists, Chennai and Kolkata. This year, teams have been divided into two groups of five each. For the first time since 2011, ten teams will play for the ITL trophy. Group A consists of Mumbai, Kolkata, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Lucknow.
On the other hand, Group B consists of Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Punjab, and Gujarat. Talking about the Hyderabad schedule, the last year's table-toppers from the bottom will play their first match on March 29 against Rajasthan from Group A. Five days later, on April 4, the Orange Army will play their first Group B game against Lucknow.
