Indian T20 League 2022: Match 32- Delhi vs Punjab- Preview, Playing XIs, Pitch Report & Updates

The 32nd match of the Indian T20 League 2022 will be played between Delhi and Punjab. Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai will host the match on the 20th of April. The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi team has played five games in the tournament so far, winning two and losing three. They stand eighth on the points table. Punjab, on the other hand, is just ahead of Delhi in the seventh place, with three wins in six games.

Team Updates

Delhi

The Delhi team has been jolted with Covid scare. Days after physio Patrick Farhart testing positive for the virus, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh also tested positive. Four other team members, who came in close contact with Marsh, have also been isolated. The all-rounder will not be available to the team for their match against Punjab.

Meanwhile, the men in blue and red have played decent cricket this season but haven't got the desired results. The likes of Prithvi Shaw and David Warner have batted well, but their middle order is yet to make a significant contribution. Barring Kuldeep, their bowlers have also blown hot and cold. They need to be a lot more consistent.

Players to watch out for

David Warner- David Warner has been in red hot form in the Indian T20 League 2022. The southpaw has already scored  131 runs at a strike rate of 138, including two half centuries.

Kuldeep Yadav- Kuldeep Yadav has emerged as the biggest match winner for Delhi this season. He has taken 11 wickets at an economy of just above 8. He can leak a few runs but is definitely a match winner for the team.

Mayank Agarwal, who missed out on the last game, may return to the team against Delhi. His return will provide much needed solidarity at the top of the order. Punjab have a strong batting order and most of their batters are in decent form. However, their bowling is a cause of concern as it has failed to make any impact in the tournament so far.

Players to watch out for

Shikhar Dhawan- Shikhar Dhawan has been stable at the top. He has given the team good, solid starts at the top. He has scored 205 runs in the tournament and will be keen to add a few more to his tally against Delhi.

Liam Livingstone- Liam Livingstone has been the most consistent performer for the team this season. He has scored 224 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 185. Livingstone also has three half-centuries in the season already. More importantly, he has bailed the team out of trouble in most games.
