Delhi will take on Hyderabad in the 50th game of the Indian T20 League 2022. The teams will lock horns at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium. Despite comparable win percentages, the two teams have had very contrasting seasons. The Kane Williamson-led team has looked a lot more settled. They are fourth in the standings with five victories in nine games. With four wins in nine games, Delhi isn't far behind. They are fifth in the standings.

Team Updates

Delhi

The Rishabh Pant-led Delhi team has been on and off throughout the season. They have not given consistent performances, which have put them in a tricky position in the tournament. They now can't afford too many losses if they are to harbour hopes of a playoff berth.  Their batting unit, in particular, has not shown solidarity. While the openers, Prithvi Shaw and David Warner have been decent, their middle order has not played up to the mark. Rishabh Pant, Mitchell Marsh, and Lalit Yadav, who are in charge of the middle order, have not scored a single half-century.

Delhi's bowling unit, on the other hand, has been decent. Kuldeep Yadav has been their most effective bowler, while players like Mustafizur Rahman and Axar Patel have also chipped in. Despite having lost their previous match, Delhi would not want to make any changes to their playing XI.

Players to watch out for

Kuldeep Yadav- Kuldeep Yadav has been the most effective bowler for the men in blue and red. He has taken 17 wickets in nine games, including two four-wicket hauls. He is also in the contention to win the purple cap this season. The chinamen bowler will be keen to carry the good run.

David Warner- David Warner, at the top, has been brilliant for Delhi. In the seven matches this season, he has scored 264 runs at an average of 44. On his day, Warner can decimate the best bowling lineups and Delhi will hope that the southpaw rise to the occasion against a strong Hyderabad bowling.

Probable Playing XI

Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Lalit Yadav, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakariya

Hyderabad

The orange army has had a successful season so far. The credit for this goes to their batting lineup which has done wonderfully well despite little expectations. The likes of Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran have been in decent touch.

Hyderabad's bowling, on the other hand, is one of the best in the tournament, with T Natarajan, Umran Malik doing splendidly well. The only concern for the Hyderabad team will be that the bowlers have leaked a lot more runs than the team would have liked, something they would like to rectify in the coming games.

Players to watch out for

T Natarajan- T Natarajan has picked up 17 wickets in the nine matches this season at an economy of 8.65 runs. Natarajan wouldn't mind giving 32 runs and taking 2 wickets in the coming games. However, with the kind of tricks he has in his armoury, he would be keen to pick a lot more wickets.

Abhishek Sharma- Abhishek Sharma has played with the right intent this season. He has scored runs at a strike rate of 134.4. In the nine matches, he has scored 324 runs at an average of 36. His batting has provided a solid platform for the batters to follow which is one of the key reasons of Hyderabad batters doing well. Sharma will be keen to deliver another good knock.

Probable Playing XI

Abhishek Sharma, Kane Williamson (c), Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Shashank Singh, Washington Sundar/Jagadeesha Suchith, Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, T Natarajan

Pitch Report

The track at the Brabourne Stadium has slowed down a lot. The batters have struggled to get runs and the spinners have enjoyed their time here. The batters need to give themselves some time at the wicket, to get used to the pace. Once set, there will be plenty of runs for the taking, given the short boundary on one side.
