Indian T20 League 2022: Match 57- Lucknow vs Gujarat- Preview, Playing XIs, Pitch Report & Updates

Playing their debut season, Lucknow and Gujarat will go head-on in the 57th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. This will be the second meeting of the two teams in the Indian T20 League 2022. Their first encounter was won by Hardik Pandya's Gujarat by five wickets. The two teams currently stand at the top of the points table with eight wins in 11 games. Lucknow, however, is in the first place with a better net run rate. The Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune will host the match on the 10th of April. The winner of this game will qualify for the playoffs.

Lucknow

The men in turquoise have had a terrific season under the leadership of KL Rahul. They have done well in all the departments. The only worry for them is the form of some of their all-rounders. Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis are their key players, but they have not been consistent.

However, with only a handful of matches left and the team having a high net run rate, Lucknow is almost through to the playoffs. But, they would like to win as many matches as possible to keep the winning momentum intact. The KL Rahul-led team is on a four-match winning streak. They are likely to play the same team that featured in their last game.

Players to watch out for

KL Rahul- The skipper has been a brilliant performer for the team. He has scored 451 runs at an average of 50.11 in 11 games. He is the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament this season. His strike rate of 145 has also been impressive. He can single handedly win a game for his team.

Mohsin Khan- Having played only five games this season, Khan rise as one of the primary bowler of the team is extraordinary. The left arm pacer has picked up nine wickets at an economy rate of 5.35. The 23-year old would like to make the most out of the upcoming games.

Gujarat

Gujarat has been the most consistent team this season. All of their players have played well and they seemed to have found their winning combination. The team has taken the games deep, and the finishers have done an outstanding job in helping them win the matches. They would, however, like to get more runs in the middle overs so that the finishers are not under pressure to score the bulk of the runs towards the end. Despite losing their previous game, Gujarat won't be keen on making any changes to their starting lineup.

Players to watch out for

Wriddhiman Saha- Wriddhiman Saha has looked quite comfortable at the top of the order in the few matches he has played. He has scored a total of 209 runs in six matches, including two half-centuries. The wicketkeeper-batter has got the team off to fliers and would be eyeing another decent outing.

Shubman Gill- Shubman Gill had a great start to the season but heHowever,  fizzled out in the next few games. He scored a half-century against Mumbai in their last game and looked confident. He would want to continue scoring more runs. Gill has scored 321 runs in 11 games this season.

Pitch Report

The track at the MCA Stadium has slowed down to some extent, assisting the slower bowlers. The batters are finding it difficult to get used to the pace of the wicket. The batters need to spend more time in the middle and get used to the pitch before trying to score quick runs.
