With the race to the playoffs getting intense, Lucknow will take on Rajasthan in the 63rd match of the Indian T20 League 2022 to seal a spot in the top four. This will be the second encounter between the two. The first one saw the Rajasthan-based franchise win by three wickets. The Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai will host the match on the 15th of May. The Lucknow team are now second on the points table, while Rajasthan are currently placed third.

Team Updates

Lucknow

A win against Rajasthan will ensure a seat in the playoffs for the KL Rahul-led team. The men in turquoise would be eager to win this match. However, the last game was not the ideal one for them. While chasing a modest score against Gujarat, they could not build any significant partnerships to take the team through. They would want to rectify this in the upcoming game and take their time to settle in the middle.

The team management would want to make one change to their lineup. Ravi Bishnoi could return to the playing XI in place of Karan Sharma. However, for the side to have a chance of winning the match, their all-rounders must perform better.

Players to watch out for

KL Rahul- Captain KL Rahul has led the team from the front. He has scored 459 runs at an average of 45.9 this season. He also has scored two hundreds and two half-centuries in 12 matches. The team would expect him to get good results in this match too.

Mohsin Khan- Mohsin Khan has been quite outstanding in his limited appearances this season. He has taken ten wickets in six games at an economy rate of 5.19. The men in turquoise would expect him to continue his for the remainder of the matches.

Probable Playing XI

Quinton de Kock (wk), KL Rahul (c), Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Ayush Badoni, Marcus Stoinis, Jason Holder, Ravi Bishnoi, Dushmantha Chameera, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan

Rajasthan

Due to some of their in-form match-winners, the men in pink and blue have had a great season so far. The team would look to win both their remaining games this season to guarantee a spot in the top four. The squad captained by Sanju Samson has had some ups and downs in recent games, and they'd like to get back on track in the upcoming game. The team has only won one of its past four games. They were defeated by Delhi by an eight-wicket margin in their last encounter.

The team might still miss the services of Shimron Hetmyer in the next game. Despite losing their last match, the inaugural winners would not want to make any changes to their playing lineup. They would, however, like to get back to winning ways with the same team.

Players to watch out for

Jos Buttler- Jos Buttler has been ineffective in recent games this season. Despite that, he is the highest run-scorer of the season. He has scored 625 runs in the season at an average of 56.8. He would aim to get back into the groove and score more runs in the following encounter.

Yuzvendra Chahal- Yuzvendra Chahal, the leg spinner, has been one of the most consistent performers this season. He has found ways to take wickets in almost every match. Chahal has taken 23 wickets in 12 appearances this season.

Probable Playing XI

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Rassie van der Dussen, Riyan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Sen

Pitch Report

The wicket at the Brabourne Stadium has slowed down significantly over the last few matches played over here. The spinners will come into play in the next match. The team winning the toss would want to bowl first here.
