In the 67th match of the Indian T20 League 2022, Bangalore beat Gujarat by eight wickets. A terrific bowling effort put Bangalore in a good position to restrict Gujarat to a low score. The batters then put on a great display to secure the win for Bangalore. Their playoff chances were boosted with the victory.

At the Wankhede Stadium, Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bat first. Gujarat, however, got off to a shaky start, losing a few wickets early on. Wridhhiman Saha and Hardik Pandya then batted to gain some quick runs. However, Saha (31) was run out in the ninth over, giving the team a total of 62. After that, David Miller and Pandya slowed down a little, but they added an important partnership. They scored 61 runs together until the 17th over.

Wanindu Hasaranga finally broke the partnership, dismissing Miller (34) in the 17th over. Hardik Pandya then played the perfect finishing game along with Rashid Khan (19) after losing one more wicket. They added 36 runs in the partnership, while Pandya (62) raced to his half-century. Batting first, Gujarat scored 168 runs.

Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli struggled to settle in during the chase, but they battled and gave the team a strong start. Virat appeared pumped up, but Du Plessis stood firm on the other end. In the powerplay, they scored 55 runs. Virat raced to his half-century as the two kept playing brilliantly. In 14.3 overs, they accumulated 115 runs as in the partnership. Rashid Khan broke the partnership by dismissing Du Plessis (44).

Glenn Maxwell then joined Virat in the middle and played some excellent shots to give Bangalore a boost. Kohli (73), however, was dismissed in the 17th over for a team total of 146. Maxwell proceeded to score big runs after that. He smacked three fours in the 19th over to help his team win. Bangalore will now await the outcome of the match between Delhi and Mumbai to ascertain if they will advance in the tournament.
