On 23 December 2022, the stage was set for the mini-auction for the Indian T20 League 2023 in Kochi. All teams were looking to add more valuable players to their retained players for the next season. On 15 November, they submitted their final list of released and retained players list of players to the Board.
Speaking of the auction, some big-name players went unsold. While Sam Curran became the most expensive player in the history of the tournament. Cameron Green became the second most expensive player followed by Ben Stokes. Fans of respective franchises went crazy after the action-packed auction.
