Match 6 of the Indian T20 League will be played between Bangalore and Kolkata at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. The two teams will be playing their second match of the tournament, but one has started on a winning note and the other lost its opener. Kolkata secured a comfortable win in its first match as they beat Chennai with six wickets to spare. Bangalore, on the other hand, had a good start with the bat but failed to defend 205.
Kolkata played as a team and won the match, but they still have scope for improvement. Their batters had good starts but were not able to convert them into big runs. In the chase of 132, they lost four wickets, and Ajinkya Rahane was their highest run-scorer with 44 to his name. This time around, the batters will have to stick around for a little longer and build better partnerships.
Bangalore was a show-stealer with their bat. They had the perfect game with the bat as Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik, all scored important runs. They would like to continue this throughout the season as they have slightly inexperienced batting lower in the order. The bowlers, on the flip side, have to do a lot better to help their team win matches.
Pitch conditions
The DY Patil Stadium generally provides a good bounce off the pitch. The pacers love it because it gives them and advantage with the new ball. However, the batters prefer the conditions as well because the ball comes nicely onto the bat.
