The sixth match of the Indian T20League 2022 is Bangalore vs Kolkata. The match will be played at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on the 30th of March. The two teams have played a game each. While Kolkata won the game against Chennai, Bangalore lost their season opener against Punjab. The rivalry between the two teams has been iconic from the battles between Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir to the low totals saga. Here are some of the player battles to watch out for in the 6th match between Bangalore and Kolkata.
Shreyas Iyer and Mohammed Siraj
Shreyas Iyer has become a great reliable batter over the past few years. He has established a good reputation for himself playing for the Delhi team in the past. He now has a much bigger responsibility with the Kolkata team to get them the best result. Mohammed Siraj has also been a match-winner for Bangalore. He has become their most important bowler in the past two seasons. The two can have a good competition in this match, but Siraj might have a slightly better chance of winning the battle. Short balls have been some concern for Iyer, which Siraj can surely use to his advantage in the match.
Varun Chakravarthy and Virat Kohli
Varun Chakravarthy had a good battle against Virat Kohli last season as well. He dismissed the former Bangalore team captain for just five runs in their first match last season. Virat was on a hunt to take down Chakravarthy in their next encounter, but that was not the case. This time around, Virat has started off his season well and would look to get better of Varun Chakravarthy this time around. Who among these two gets the better results will be interesting to see this time around.
Wanindu Hasaranga and Andre Russell
Andre Russell and Wanindu Hasaranga play a very similar role in the Indian T20 League for their respective teams, except for their bowling styles. Russell was not the best performer for Kolkata last season but was still retained for the 2022 season. Hasaranga is not a proven player but was paid a lot at the mega auction. This time these two players will have to always be on their toes at all times. Both will look to have a good match, but only time will tell who gets the better results for their team.
