Indian T20 League: Five players who have set a low base price

Indian T20 League is a platform that can turn the fortunes of a player. So many players have earned an amount they may have never imagined in life. The players have been bought at a price more than 10x of their base price. The players have the liberty to set their own base price for the auction, but at times they underestimate themselves. The teams understand their value and go all out for some players.

Here is a list of players that have set a low price for themselves in the ITL mega auctions 2022.

Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan has set a base price of just 20 lakhs for this season. He was one of the best outcomes from the tournament last season and had good results in almost every game. Playing for Delhi, he complimented Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje very well.

He got to travel with the Indian team to England based on his performances with Delhi. In the 16 matches that he played for Delhi last season, he picked up 24 wickets and was in contention to win the purple cap. He had an economy of just over 7.3 and he struck a wicket in every 15.25 balls.

Lungi Ngidi

Lungi Ngidi has been a good servant for South Africa in all formats of the game, and he started well in the ITL as well. His performance in the league has not been the best recently, but he has the skills to get the number right.

In the first season that he played in the ITL, he picked 11 wickets in 8 matches and had an economy of exactly 6 runs per over. After that, the numbers went downhill. In international cricket, he has picked 36 wickets in 23 games. He has a base price of 50 lakhs for 2022.

Rahul Chahar

Rahul Chahar was a part of two title-winning seasons with Mumbai and played 4 seasons for them in total. He was a crucial part of the team and picked many wickets in the stint he had with them. He has a base price of 75 lakhs for 2022.

Chahar made his international debut based on the wickets he took in the ITL. But, the last season was not his best. Overall, Chahar has 43 wickets in the 42 games that he has played for two teams in the ITL. He also has an economy of just 7.44.

Tabraiz Shamsi

Tabraiz Shamsi has been among the top two bowlers in the player rankings for a long time now. In a 4 years long career, he has good numbers to prove what he has achieved. In the 47 games that he has played, he has 57 wickets to his name. He has an economy of 6.7.

He has only played 5 matches in ITL so far and has three wickets to his name. His numbers can go a lot further if he gets more chances. Shamsi is available in the auction for 1 crore.

Liam Livingstone

Just like Shamsi, Liam Livingstone has not played too many ITL games as well, but his all-round skills are great. He can provide a team with 4 overs also bat at any position. He is a very flexible batter and can play at different positions. His base price for 2022 is 1 crore.

In his 17 International games, he has 285 runs at an average of 23.8, which is decent for an all-rounder. He bats at a strike rate of 158. With the ball, he has 12 wickets at an economy of 7.1.
