Hyderabad beat Punjab by seven wickets to register their fourth win of the season. Winning the toss, Hyderabad sent in Punjab to bat first. Mayank Agarwal missed out on the game due to a toe injury, and Prabhsimran Singh got the chance to open the innings. Shikhar Dhawan did not look settled in the innings and gave away his wicket to Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the third over. T Natarajan also followed up with a wicket in the fifth over. He dismissed Singh for a team score of 33.

Liam Livingstone and Jonny Bairstow were in the middle and took Punjab to 48 runs in the powerplay. Bairstow also departed after the powerplay in the seventh over to Jagadeesha Suchith. Jitesh Sharma also fell soon to Umran Malik in the 8th over for a team score of 61. Livingstone and Shahrukh Khan then helped the team get a few good runs. They added 71 runs in the partnership before Khan (26 runs in 28 balls) fell to Kumar in the 17th over. Livingstone continued to score well and reached his half-century.

He added 60 runs in 33 balls before falling to Kumar in the 19th over. They were 151 before the final over. Umran Malik then pulled off an excellent last over as he did not concede any runs. He also took three wickets in the final over.

The orange army's pursuit got off to a poor start once more. In the fourth over, they lost Kane Williamson to Kagiso Rabada. In the powerplay, Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi held on to the second wicket and guided Hyderabad to a total of 39 runs. Tripathi (34 runs in 22 balls) fell to Rahul Chahar at a team total of 62 in the ninth over. Sharma (31 runs in 25 balls) was also dismissed at a team score of 77 runs in the 11th over by Chahar.

Now it was up to Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram to finish the job for them. The two put on a fantastic performance, scoring 75 runs together. In the end, Markram hit the game-winning six to lead his team to their fourth straight victory of the season. Markram remained not out on 41 runs in 27 balls while Pooran scored 35 runs in 30 balls.
