Day one of the Indian T20 League has concluded, and it was a busy day in the auction room. With many players going for huge sums of money, teams have parts of their squads ready for the upcoming 2022 season. Some players were expected to earn handsome money. However, that didn't happen. Players like David Warner and Jason Holder were expected to break banks, and many teams were expected to go after them. While that did happen to some extent, the players were sold for cheap prices. However, here are some players that did go for big bucks on the first day of the mega auction.

Ishan Kishan- 15.25 crores

Ishan Kishan was one of the most hyped players ahead of the auction, and deservingly so. Many experts called out that he would go for the highest value, and that came true. Mumbai, the team that released him ahead of the auction, was determined to have him back. They created history by buying a player for more than 10 crores for the first time in the auction. He has been a good asset to the team since they bought him in 2018. .

Deepak Chahar- 14 crores

The 29-year old has become a good find for the Indian team in the last few years. Playing under MS Dhoni throughout his Indian T20 League career, Chahar has grown a lot. Chennai showed a lot of trust in him because he has gotten them good results. He is of great use in the powerplays and bowls the most at this stage. His swing gets the most wickets early on in the innings. On top of that, he has become a handy player with the bat as well. He can play a quick game as well.

Shreyas Iyer- 12.25 crores

The most awaited player in the auction this year, without a doubt, was Shreyas Iyer. He was expected to get the most bids as he was a good captaincy prospect and a good player in the middle-order. He was sold to Kolkata in the end. Shreyas Iyer has the highest possibility of becoming the team's captain. There are other options too, but he is a proven captain in the tournament. He guided Delhi to their first-ever ITL final in 2020.

Shardul Thakur- 10.75 crores

Shardul Thakur also has become the Indian team's one of the leading bowlers. He has earned a spot in the team based on his performances with Chennai. He will now represent Delhi in the 2022 season. Thakur can be a good match-winner. His batting is an advantage and always comes in handy.

Harshal Patel- 10.75 crores

The purple cap winner of the previous season, Harshal Patel was expected to go big and teams went all out for him. With Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore all going for him, he reached double figures, and this should be a motivational factor for him. Patel was one of the best performers last season for Bangalore which attracted them to buy him again. 2021 was a breakthrough season for him, and Bangalore will have high expectations from him this time too.
