This win has created history for Indian sports. This is the first time an Indian team will feature in the finals of the Lawn Bowls event. Having reached the final, India has already secured a Silver medal in the event, making it the first medal in the history of the sport for India.
If the Indian quartet manages to win the final against South Africa, it would be India’s fourth Gold in Commonwealth Games 2022. This will also be the only medal from outside weightlifting for the Indian contingent. The final of Lawn Bowls Women’s Four category will be held on Tuesday.
