Veteran Indian cricketer Saba Karim believes that India's chances of winning the WTC will increase if Jasprit Bumrah is in great form. It has just been three years since Bumrah made his debut in the purest format of the game. In such a short span, the pacer from Gujarat has become one of the premium bowlers for the Indian cricket team. The 27-year-old has picked up 83 wickets from 19 games at a fantastic average of 22.10. Bumrah is the only Asian bowler to pick five-wicket hauls in England, South Africa, Australia, and the West Indies in Test cricket.
With such great performances over the last few years, the former wicket-keeper batsman feels that India's chances of winnings the summit clash will depend on what kind of form Bumrah shows against New Zealand. Jasprit Bumrah had taken a break to get married during the England series. However, the pacer will now be making a comeback and leading India's pace unit in the WTC final against New Zealand in Southampton. The final of WTC will kick off on June 18 at the Rose Bowl. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammed Siraj will also be a part of India's formidable pace department for the summit clash.
Jasprit Bumrah will touch 400-wicket mark in Test cricket: Curtly Ambrose
Earlier this week, former West Indian great Curtly Ambrose had also praised Jasprit Bumrah. The veteran stated that Bumrah would touch the 400-wicket mark in Test cricket. Curtly Ambrose also disclosed that the right-arm seamer is different to most of the bowlers he has seen. It would be crucial if India were to get past New Zealand in the World Test Championship final. Saba Karim also agreed with Curtly Ambrose's assessment of Jasprit Bumrah, considering the match would be occurring in England. Saba Karim pointed out that the form shown by the 27-year old in the last three IPL matches have been promising. He also added that a return to full flow would only mean increasing India's chances of winning the WTC.
