The Twitter post accompanied a picture of Rohit Sharma leading other Indian players like Hardik Pandya, Harmanpreet Kaur, Suryakumar Yadav, Shafali Verma and Renuka Singh.
Design features
The new Indian Jersey is quite different from the outgoing one as it features a lighter shade of blue, similar to that of the 2007 World Cup winning jersey. The shoulder patches however are still kept in the darker shade of blue. ‘INDIA’ is written in orange in the middle of the jersey with the sponsor's name written on top of it.

The shirt designer MPL also adorns the right side of the chest area while the Indian Cricket Board’s logo is kept in its usual place on the left. Three stars are kept over the logo signifying India’s three World Cup wins in 1983, 2007 and 2011.
One striking feature of the new jersey however has been the inclusion of light blue triangles on the left abdomen area of the jersey. These triangles stand for Indian cricket fans’ energy, spirit and power. Additionally, the jersey also features dark blue coloured petals which have been inspired by the Indian Cricket Board’s logo and denotes merit and loyalty.
The Indian team will don the jersey for the first time on 20th September when they meet Australia in the first match of the three-match T20I series. The new Indian Jersey could be bought from MPL's official website for a starting price of Rs 1,999 and goes all the way to Rs 3,999 for the pro player jersey.
