On 23 October, India kicked off the 20-20 World Cup 2022 campaign in a winning way against Pakistan. The Men in Blue won the match by four wickets in Melbourne. Virat Kohli was the star of the match as he came up with a match-winning knock. But, a controversial no-ball incident took place in the last over of that clash.

Thus, it made headlines after the completion of the match. Former cricketers raised their voices on social media platforms. Former Australian spinner, Brad Hogg also shared a tweet. It reads: “Why was no ball not reviewed, then how can it not be a dead ball when Kohli was bowled on a free hit.” Now, in response to that, Aaqib Javed took a dig at Hogg.

“They don't care about the rules. They just have to tweet.” - Aaqib Javed

While speaking on a Pakistani TV Channel, Aaqib Javed said that when these players get a platform like Twitter, they forget the rules. “When they get a chance to tweet, they don't care about the rules. They just have to tweet. Our problem is that we agree to whatever these guys say.” Aaqib Javed said.

As per MCC rules, a ball can only be dead if the batter is dismissed and since it was a free hit, Kohli could not be adjudged out. Therefore, Hogg’s tweet became a subject of criticism. That’s why Javed to a dib at the former Australian spinner. Speaking about that match, Pakistan scored 159 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. In response, India chased it down on the last ball of the match. Virat Kohli scored 82* runs off 53 balls, including four sixes and six fours.

However, both these teams will be in action again on 27 October in Sydney. India will take on the Netherlands. On the other hand, Pakistan will take on Zimbabwe. The Men in Blue will look to continue their winning momentum. While Pakistan will look to win their first match of this year’s tournament.
