Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 6 wickets in the 49th match of IPL 2020 in Dubai, as the "Yellow Army" chased the 173-run target on the last ball of the match.
In the wake of winning the toss, MS Dhoni elected to bowl first and KKR got off to a respectable beginning with the bat. Nitish Rana paced his innings wonderfully to make a 61-ball 87, following up his brilliant duck in his past game. The force moved towards CSK after Rana got out, however, before an appearance from Dinesh Karthik helped KKR set up a serious target of 172.
Despite the fact that CSK got off to a slow start with the bat, momentum was there for them as Ambati Rayudu and Ruturaj Gaikwad indicated a great deal of expectation with some truly attractive shots.
KKR has faced many challenges in IPL 2020 and they settled on a couple of shocking decisions against CSK as well. The transition to acquire an additional batsman and play with five bowlers, conveying Narine to bat before Eoin Morgan, and the transition to give an over to Rana where he surrendered 16 runs didn't support their motivation.
In the end, CSK got over the line through two-star entertainers with the bat. Gaikwad's 72 did lay the stage for moderately easy completion, however, with CSK in a tough situation requiring 30 runs off the last two overs, Ravindra Jadeja demonstrated to have a significant effect with some late huge hitting.
