All the matches in the 3rd week of IPL 2021 were hosted in Delhi and Ahmedabad, which is more favourable for the batsmen. Hence, we were bound to witness some match-winning performances with the bat. That said, here are the 3 best batting performances in the 3rd week of IPL 2021:

3. Ruturaj Gaikwad vs SRH (75 in 44 balls)

Ruturaj Gaikwad amassed his highest ever IPL score against SRH in the 23rd match of IPL 2021. Batting first, SRH posted 171 on the board. Chasing 172, the duo of Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad took CSK off to a flying start. Faf du Plessis played a superb knock of 56 in just 38 balls. However, it was Gaikwad who was the more threatening batsman. Gaikwad’s terrific batting display swayed the match in CSK’s favour. In just 44 balls, the CSK opener smacked 75 runs. His blistering innings featured a total of 12 boundaries. Unfortunately, Gaikwad failed to amass his maiden IPL century, falling prey to SRH’s Rashid Khan. Eventually, CSK went on to win the match by 7 wickets.

2. KL Rahul vs RCB (91* in 57 balls)

The PBKS skipper ran riot against RCB’s bowlers in the 26th match of IPL 2021. In just 57 deliveries, Rahul smacked an unbeaten 91 to guide PBKS to a total of 179. KL Rahul’s terrific knock comprised a total of 7 fours and 5 huge sixes. The Punjab Kings bowled really well to restrict RCB to just 145. Eventually, PBKS went on to win the match by a margin of 34 runs. KL Rahul is now the current Orange Cap holder in IPL 2021. In 7 matches in IPL 2021, Rahul has 311 runs to his name. If KL Rahul keeps delivering with the bat in a similar fashion, he might win the Orange cap again this season.

1. Prithvi Shaw vs KKR (82 in 41 balls)

Prithvi Shaw exerted his dominance on the KKR bowlers in the 25th match of IPL 2021. Batting first, KKR went on to post a total of 154 on the board. In reply, the duo of Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan gave DC the perfect start. While Dhawan was comparatively quieter, Prithvi Shaw smashed balls out of the park. In just 41 balls, Shaw smacked 82 runs, including 11 fours and 3 sixes in total. Eventually, DC went on to win the match by 7 wickets. For his brilliant batting performance, Shaw won the Man of the Match award.
