Delhi Capitals (DC) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have enjoyed a dominant run in the Indian Premier League 2021. Both teams have nine wins in 11 games and are placed second and first in the points table respectively. Having already qualified for the playoffs, both teams will be eyeing a win to further bolster their chances of finishing in the top two.
Former West Indies cricketer Brian Lara thinks that Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals will beat CSK in today’s game. Lara opined that DC have a better bowling attack which gives them an edge in the match. DC have one of the best bowling attacks in the tournament, with Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada, Avesh Khan and Ravichandran Ashwin at disposal.
“A test run for what is likely to be the first vs second game in a few days time, to decide which team goes straight to the finals. It’s a close one to call. I am going with DC here, as I feel their bowling attack is the strongest in this year’s IPL.” Lara said on Instagram
He further backed Kagiso Rabada to come good in the match. Rabada had a fantastic run in the last season where he picked up 30 wickets in seven games. However, he has not quite spelt the magic he is expected of and has only 13 wickets to show in 11 games. "I would like to see Kagiso Rabada back in wicket taking form."
For CSK, Ruturaj Gaikwad has been brilliant and and is the highest run scorer of the tournament so far. Faf du Plessis has supported him well. However, the middle order has looked vulnerable. DC will hope they can knock of the openers for not much and restrict CSK to as low as possible.
