Newly appointed Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has coined a new nickname for teammate Jos Buttler. During a post-match talk with the team, Sanju Samson called England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler as 'Jos Bhai' (brother). Thus, this brought laughter among Rajasthan Royals team members. Jos Buttler is one of the most important players of the Rajasthan based franchise. The England wicket-keeper batsman has not shown an excellent batting performance in IPL 2021 so far. He has only managed to score 25 and 2 runs in two matches. However, the batsman thrilled the audience with four back to back boundaries during Rajasthan Royals' first game against Punjab Kings.

In the last game against DC, Jos Buttler was promoted as an opening batsman. Sanju Samson took this decision after Ben Stokes injured his finger in the first match and was ruled out of IPL 2021. However, Jos Buttler could only score 2 runs off 7 deliveries in the game. In his first game, the wicket-keeper batsman amassed 25 runs off 13 balls against Punjab Kings. The Jaipur-based franchise lost the match by 4 runs against Punjab Kings despite a hundred (119) by skipper Sanju Samson. The Rajasthan Royals skipper failed to score 13 runs off six balls in the final over and remained 5 runs short of a remarkable victory.

Rajasthan Royals are placed 5th in IPL 2021 points table

In the match against Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals grabbed victory by three wickets. South African allrounder Chris Morris played the finisher's role against and scored a match-winning inning. With RR requiring 44 off the last four overs, Morris scored 36 off 18 to win the match for his team. He performed well with the ball as well, picking up one wicket. Morris smashed 4 huge sixes in the last two overs to bag victory for his side. Chris Morris justified his high price tag in the late stages of the match when he hit Kagiso Rabada and Tom Curran for several sixes to take RR over the line.

David Miller also scored a half-century (62) in the game. After one victory and one defeat in two games so far, Rajasthan Royals are spotted 5th in IPL 2021 points table. The Sanju Samson-led side is now going to play against Chennai Super Kings on April 19 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
