Royal Challengers Bangalore named New Zealand seamer Scott Kuggeleijn as Kane Richardson's replacement for the remaining season. On the other hand, no replacement has been named yet for leg-spinner Adam Zampa. Australian bowlers Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson have decided to pull out from the ongoing IPL season. The bowlers have cited personal reasons and will soon be heading back to Australia. Zampa and Richardson are currently in Mumbai, whereas their franchise RCB has moved to Ahmedabad for the season's remaining games. Apart from the duo, Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Andrew Tye has also left midway from the league.

The Australian pacer feared getting locked out of his own country in the wake of a COVID-19 surge in India. Spinner Adam Zampa was bought for Rs 1.5 crore, whereas RCB spent Rs 4 crore for Kane Richardson at the mini-auction. With these three Australian players withdrawing, the IPL 2021 now has 14 Aussie players left. Cricket Australia contacted all Australia's IPL bound players on Monday. The officials inquired about the players' health and their travel plans.

Scott Kuggeleijn has previously represented Chennai Super Kings in the IPL

Recently, Australian pacer Pat Cummins, who plays under Eoin Morgan in KKR, donated $50,000 to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund. This amount was presented for the purchase of oxygen supplies in India. In a statement on his official Twitter account, the pacer made the announcement. Also, he urged other players to do the same, considering the country is battling a second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Talking about Scott Kuggeleijn, he is an experienced player and has already previously been a part of the Indian Premier League. In IPL 2019, the 29-year-old was roped in by Chennai Super Kings as a replacement for Lungi Ngidi. He had featured in two games for the Men in Yellow, scalping 2 wickets at an economy rate of 8.87. Kuggeleijn recently represented New Zealand in the T20I games against Pakistan.

The pacer has so far featured in 2 ODIs and 16 T20Is for NZ. He has also picked up 18 wickets across the two formats. Kuggeleijn's addition to the RCB squad will provide more balance to the team's pace unit. RCB's bowling department has been delivering the goods so far this season. Players like Mohammed Siraj and Kyle Jamieson have been impressive for the team, whereas Harshal Patel has been the pick of the bowlers for the Bangalore outfit.
