Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns with each other in Match 44 of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Kane Williamson-led side finally secured their second win of the tournament after defeating Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets. Chasing down a total of 165, Jason Roy provided SRH with a flying start registering a half-century. Williamson then scored unbeaten 51 to take the team past the total.

Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, grabbed victory from the Jaws of defeat thanks to Ravindra Jadeja. The all-rounder played a quickfire knock of 8-ball 22 runs to strengthen the team’s position.

Heading into this match, Hyderabad will aim to secure another victory and improve their standings in the points table. The MS Dhoni-led side is comfortably placed at the top of the points table and will look forward to continuing their winning momentum further.

Key players

Faf du Plessis

The South African batter has been pivotal in providing CSK with some good starts. He has been consistently scoring runs at the top order which has more often than not put the team in the commanding position. In the last match as well, he played an innings of 43 runs which included as many as seven fours. In the tournament so far, he has scored 394 runs at a healthy average of 49.25.

Kane Williamson

A lot of hopes will be pinned on the captain to perform for the side. In the last game against Rajasthan, he stood firm for the team and hit an impressive half-century. For Hyderabad to fetch in few wins and better their position in the points table, Williamson’s contribution will be very crucial. He would thus be determined to put up a spirited show with the bat.
