Bollywood actress, Katrina Kaif has reportedly been named as the Brand Ambassador of IPL 2024 defending champions, Chennai Super Kings ahead of the 17th season.

Bollywood actress, Katrina Kaif has reportedly been named as the Brand Ambassador of IPL 2024 defending champions, Chennai Super Kings. The team won the record fifth title last year, beating the then-defending champions, Gujarat Titans. Since 2010, the team has won the title in 2010, defended it in 2011. Seven years later, the team won their third title, followed by fourth in 2021 and fifth last year.

The schedule of the 17th season is yet to be announced. Apparently, the General Elections will also take place as the Indian Citizens will vote for their government for the next five years. However, just like the 2019 season, the tournament will be played in India. Meanwhile, ahead of the upcoming season, possibly in mid-March, Kaif has been named as the Brand Ambassador for the Yellow Brigade. 

MS Dhoni will lead Chennai Super Kings again

Last year, after the IPL win, Dhoni was asked whether he will play in the 2024 edition. In reply, he said "Looking for an answer? Circumstantially if you see, this is the best time to announce my retirement. But the amount of love and affection I have been shown wherever I have been this year, the easy thing would be for me to say "Thank you very much", but the tough thing for me is to work hard for another 9 months and come back and play at least 1 more season of IPL. A lot depends on the body, I have 6-7 months to decide. It will be more like a gift from my side, it's not easy for me but that's a gift. The way they've shown their love and affection, I think that's something I need to do for them."

Ahead of the player auction last year, the former India skipper was retained.
