Pakistan Super League concluded on Friday, 18th of March with the final match between Lahore Qalandars and Multans. Both teams played this title clash at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The hosts Lahore Qalandars, under the captaincy of star Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi won the final in a thrilling by the barest of margins of only 1 run.

Notably, it’s the second consecutive title win for Lahore in the Pakistan Super League; they also clinched the tournament last year in 2022 under the captaincy of Shaheen. Later on, a piece of news started flashing on social media that the players of PSL champion Lahore were awarded a few unique awards including an iPhone 14.

A renowned Pakistan journalist happened to inform the fans about this announcement from the officials.

“David Wiese won himself iPhone 14, Shaheen Afridi won 1 kanal plot and another 2 kanal plot, Zaman Khan bagged himself a plot top, a plot for Abdullah Shafique as well, 1 kanal plot for Rashid Khan and 1 kanal plot for Fakhar Zaman. Plots galore at Lahore Qalandars” wrote a Pakistan journalist in a tweet from his official Twitter handle.

Although a section of the Indian cricket fans took this announcement from the PSL officials as an opportunity to troll Pakistan and their economic condition at the moment. Fans took to Twitter to come up with hilarious tweets trolling PSL and the Pakistan Cricket Board as well.

Speaking of the final between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans, the hosts’ skipper Shaheen Afridi won the toss and decided to bat first; star batter Abdullah Shafique played a brilliant knock of 65 runs off 40 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes to his name. Other than Shafique, the skipper Shaheen Afridi also played a sensational captaincy knock of 44 runs off just 15 balls with two boundaries and five massive sixes on his credit.

On the back of these knocks, Lahore posted a big total of 200 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, Multan looked very good but they couldn’t cross the line and eventually lost the match by a very close margin of one run. Lahore skipper Shaheen Afridi won the ‘player of the match for his brilliant match-defining all-round performance.
