Virat Kohli has joined the elite list of players that have represented India in Test cricket. He became the 12th player to do so after Rahul Dravid, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, and Virender Sehwag. Before the match against Sri Lanka, Virat was presented with his 100th Test match cap by Rahul Dravid. Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli’s wife, was also present at the felicitation.
Many Twitter users questioned her presence during the ceremony and felt that she shouldn’t have been there. Many other users, however, came in defence of the couple and said that she had all the right to be there. Some users also pointed out that wives of other players have also been present when they achieved this landmark.
Here are some of the tweets

In the road to success or as you said hardwork and achievements comes backlash, depressing moments and failure. Anddd in those tough moments #AnushkaSharma stood by his side like a pillar. That’s why she is standing there. https://t.co/POYtt7bLKk

Meanwhile, Rahul Dravid, who presented Virat with the cap gailed Kohli and said the 100th cap was well deserved by Kohli. “It’s well deserved, well earned, and hopefully it is just the start of many things to come. As we say in the dressing room, double it up,” said India head coach.
The former Indian captain was also very proud to play 100 Tests. He said that in the times of multiple format, he was happy to represent India in the ‘purest format’.
“It is a special moment for me. My wife is here and so is my brother. Everyone is very proud. It is indeed a team game and it couldn’t have been possible without you. Thanks to the BCCI as well. In present day cricket, with the amount we play with three formats and an IPL, the one takeaway the next generation can take from me is that I played 100 games in the purest format,” he said.
