Team India took on Bangladesh in the third and last match of the ongoing ODI series on 10 December 2022. The home side already managed to win the series before this clash by winning the first two matches. So, they were looking for a clean sweep while team India were looking for a consolation win before the Test series.

However, before this match, Rohit Sharma got ruled out after getting injured during the second ODI. So, KL Rahul was the captain. Litton Das won the toss and asked the Men in Blue to bat first. Ishan Kishan came into the team to replace the opener, Rohit Sharma. Therefore, he came out to open the innings with Shikhar Dhawan in Chattogram.

India defeated Bangladesh by 227 runs in the third ODI

However, Shikhar Dhawan failed once again as he got out for three runs off eight balls. Then, Ishan Kishan and Virat Kohli put up a partnership of 290 runs. In that process, Ishan Kishan scored his maiden ODI double-hundred. He scored 210 runs off 131 balls, including 24 fours and 10 sixes. Along with him, Kohli also scored his 44th ODI and 72nd international ton for team India. He got out after scoring 113 runs off 91 balls, including 11 fours and two sixes. Thus, Indiaโ€™s innings ended at 409 runs for eight wickets in 50 overs. For Bangladesh, Ebador Hossain, Shakib Al Hasan, and Taskin Ahmed took two wickets each.

In reply, Bangladesh batters were all over the place. Litton Das tried to give a speedy start to the innings. But, he got out after scoring 29 runs off 26 balls, including four boundaries and one six. Then, Shakib Al Hasan scored 43 runs off 50 balls, including four boundaries. But, other batters failed miserably as Bangladesh managed 163 runs for nine wickets in 32 overs. Finally, they got bundled out for 182 runs in 34 overs. Thus, India won the match by 227 runs and the series ended 2-1 in favor of Bangladesh.ย
