Young wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan could not have asked for a better start to his international career. On Sunday, the 21-year-old celebrated his India debut in style, slamming a half-century off 28 deliveries. Ishan Kishan formed a crucial partnership with skipper Virat Kohli that proved essential in India's chase of 165. The youngster scored 56 off 32 deliveries, creating five boundaries and four sixes.

While Suryakumar Yadav didn't get a chance to bat on his debut for Team India, Kishan made the most of his first-ever international match for the national team. The Mumbai Indians opener attacked the English bowlers right from the beginning despite losing his opening mate KL Rahul (0) in the first over of India's 165-run chase.

Kohli looked in fine form, but with the bat, my hero was Ishan Kishan: Ramiz Raja

Veteran Pakistan batsman Ramiz Raja was mesmerized watching Ishan Kishan bat. He stated that team India did the right thing handing debuts to proven IPL performers such as Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav. Ishan Kishan's India selection came on the back of his performance in the IPL 2020. The batsman amassed over 500 runs for the Mumbai Indians in their successful campaign.

Raja also admired the fact that the youngster was given the freedom to go out and express himself. Kishan will now look to keep his brilliant form and make the most of his chances in the remaining T20I games. India will face England in the third T20I on Tuesday, March 16, at the same venue.
