Ishant Sharma has given a major lift to Team India before the Test series in Australia. The senior pacer looks ready to make it to the Aussie-India series after resuming bowling at his maximum capacity at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. The Indian pacer has been staying at the NCA after the selectors ruled him out of the IPL 2020 a month ago because of an abdominal muscle tear injury.

As per ESPNcricinfo, on Wednesday, the pacer bowled two extensive bowling spells at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Sunil Joshi, the chairman of selectors, was watching out his bowling, and Rahul Dravid as well, who is the NCA chief. The report expressed that Ishant Sharma bowled on one of the side pitches at the cricket stadium; first for around 45 minutes during the lunch break of a 50-overs-a-side corporate cricket match; and afterward for around an hour toward its finish.

Ishant Sharma has to pass a fitness test before flying to Australia

After the two spells, Ishant Sharma went through a couple of fundamental stretching routines as well. And afterward, he returned for a short practice session of fielding, shifting back and forth between high and flat catches. The slender pacer will have to clear a fitness test before receiving the green signal for the tour to Australia.

Apart from Rohit Sharma, the rest of the Indian team went to Australia a week ago after the IPL 2020 ended. Furthermore, the report pointed out that Ishant Sharma didn't show up any uneasiness while bowling; as his practice session went out well. It looks like he is recovering his full fitness before the crucial Australia-India series.

Australia and India are going to play the four-match Test series on December 17 in Adelaide. Before the Test series, both teams will play three ODIs and the same number of T20Is.
