Pakistan cricket team's star cricketer Babar Azam is all set to return as captain of the T20I and ODI squads against New Zealand in a home series as announced on Tuesday. Both teams will clash against each other first for the T20I series, starting on April 14.

A few days ago, they faced off with Afghanistan in a three-match T20I series where they suffered an embarrassing 2-1 series loss. However, Babar was rested for that series, and all-rounder Shadab Khan led the team.

Meanwhile, Babar Azam has posted a picture on social media on Wednesday, April 5, in which he can be seen holding a gaming console. The right-handed batter is chilling and playing games before the series and will soon start practicing for it.

While posting the picture, he also wrote a caption, 'Let's begin'.

Many fans reacted to the picture and expressed their emotions through their tweets.

Recently, Babar went unsold in the Hundred draft, and reacting to it, England's Test fast bowler James Anderson revealed what was the reason for Babar's getting unsold in the league.

"I'll pay double for him . I'll spend the whole budget on Babar Azam. The only thing I can guess is that there might have been an availability issue, which is why he wasn't picked," Anderson said on BCC's Tailender Podcast.

Shaheen Shah Afridi also returned to the squad

Together with Babar, left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will be making his first appearance in international cricket after the 20-20 World Cup, which was held in Australia last year. He sustained a knee injury due to which he couldn't play in the home Test series against New Zealand and, later, against New Zealand as well.

However, Shaheen was in action in the, recently, concluded Pakistan Super League, where he bowled brilliantly and led the Lahore Qalandars team to their second straight PSL title last month. For the five One Day Internationals and five T20Is against the Blackcaps, which will be contested at Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi from April 14 to May 7, all five senior players Babar, Shaheen, Harish Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan, and Fakhar Zaman are back to the team.
