Things came to a halt in the 2nd match of Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 between Galle Titans and Dambulla Aura when a snake entered the ground. The incident went immediately viral on social media attracting a lot of memes and jokes from the users. It was one of the very rare occurrences on the field of cricket.

Meanwhile, the veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik also joined the league of posting memes. He took to Twitter to post a hilarious tweet on the incident. “The naagin is back, I thought it was in Bangladesh,” wrote Karthik in his tweet while sharing a tweet of a user.

Galle Titans hold nerves to win super over after thrilling tie against Dambula Aura

Talking about the action of the match between Titans and Aura, it ended in a thrilling tie as both teams ended up scoring 180 runs each after the end of the match. Later, Galle Titans sealed the game in the super over. Earlier in the match, Dambulla skipper Kusal Mendis won the toss and asked Galle to bat first. Number three batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa and skipper Dasun Shanaka played the crucial knocks of 48 and 42 runs, respectively. Other than these two, opener Shevon Daniel and veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan also contributed with individual scores of 33 and 23 runs, respectively. On the back of these knocks, Shanaka’s men managed to put in a total of 180 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, Dhananjaya de Silva and Kusal Perera’s knocks of 43 and 40 runs, helped Dambulla to gain some momentum. But Titans’ bowling attack managed to end the match in a tie by restricting Aura to the score of 180 runs in the entire 20 overs.
