The hosts CSK have decided to bowl first after winning the toss; batting first, Rajasthan Royals have posted a total of 175 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Speaking of the first innings Rajasthan played, they faced an early blow in the form of young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal when he fell prey to Tushar Deshpande in the second over of the match at the team’s total score of only 11 runs. Then onwards, the senior opener Jos Buttler and young number three Devdutt Padikkal stitched a crucial partnership of 77 runs for the second wicket before Jaiswal was trapped by Ravindra Jadeja on the individual score of 38 runs off 26 balls with five boundaries.
Other than this, Jos Butter scored a half-century of 52 runs off 36 balls with a boundary and three sixes with the wood. Whereas, the star all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin came to bat at number five and played a very important knock of 30 runs off 22 balls with a boundary and two sixes on his credit. At the end of the innings, Shimron Hetmyer also contributed with an unbeaten knock of 30 runs off 18 balls with two boundaries and the same number of sixes.
