All teams are gearing up for the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League; meanwhile, Lucknow skipper and senior Indian batter, KL Rahul has made it to the headlines for his recent statement on the sidelines of the jersey launch event of the Lucknow franchise ahead of the tournament.

Notably, the senior opener is enduring a poor run of form with the bat for a long time even before the Asia Cup 2022. He also failed to live up to the expectations in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Later on, he couldn’t deliver with the wood in the bilateral clashes against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka respectively.

Now, KL Rahul has come up with a blunt stance on the ‘strike-rate’ debate and question during the event of the Lucknow franchise.

"I think the strike rate is over-rated. But it depends upon the demand, like if you chase 140 - you don't need to go with 200 strike rate - it depends upon the current situation," said KL Rahul during the event.

Later on, the Lucknow team mentor and former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir also praised skipper KL Rahul and called him a “stable-headed’ captain.

Now, KL Rahul might be in action with the Indian team in the fourth and last of the four-match Test series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He missed the Indore Test against Australia and young batter Shubman Gill replaced him in the playing XI. The veteran batter has scored only 38 runs in the three innings of the two Tests played so far with a very poor average of 12.16.

Earlier, he also failed to live up to the expectations in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh in Bangladesh.

Although, KL Rahul had a decent run of form as skipper for Lucknow during last year's edition of the Indian T20 League. The new entrants made it through to the eliminator of the tournament.
