On 1 December, Mumbai City FC took on FC Goa in the ongoing Indian Super League in Mumbai Football Arena. Mumbai City FC were coming off as unbeaten so far in this season to this clash. On the other hand, FC Goa were coming off after a 2-0 loss against Bengaluru. So, Mumbai were looking to continue their unbeaten run.

While FC Goa were looking to get back into winning ways. However, Goa failed to do so as Mumbai registered a thrashing 4-1 victory over them. After the match, Mumbai City FC's head coach, Des Buckingham was delighted with his team's performance. He heaped praises on his team and shared the hard work they have put on in the last few months.

“I am happy with the staff, but that's all it is." - Mumbai City FC's head coach

During the post-match press conference, Des Buckingham said: “I am happy with the staff, but that's all it is. We're nine games into a 20-game season. We want more than 20 and we've got a lot more work to do. I wasn't happy with the first half. I thought we were good enough to have the goals and go in with the win. But I wasn't happy with a couple of things which we changed in the second half. But we are very happy overall with nine games.”

He also added that Ahmed Jahouh is one of the best players and Buckingham considered himself to be lucky to work with him. Mumbai City FC’s head coach said: “Ahmed Jahouh is one of the best players I've been fortunate enough to work with in my time here. Both at the start and all the way through, he is one of the best professionals on the field and off the field that he has tried so hard to adapt his game to play  the way we want and that's the reason he's playing as much game time and start in the games because we know it can be a very influential player in this league and what he's done already.”

"But the way he's adapted his game, to try and fit into our playing style he is so open-minded to learn new things. And he tries so hard to try and do that and I'm very happy with the performances he's had so far this season," he added. Now, Mumbai will visit Salt Lake Stadium to face Eat Bengal FC in their next clash on 16 December.
