Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad locked horns in the 10th match of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League 2023. The visitors’ skipper Aiden Markaram won the toss and decided to bat first. Although this decision backfired for SRH as they could score only 121 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Lucknow Super Giants comfortably chased down the target in 16 overs and registered their second win in the ongoing current season of IPL. Speaking of the entire action of the match, only the opener Anmolpreet Singh and Rahul Tripathi could cross the individual mark of 30+ runs. Anmolpreet played a knock of 31 runs off 26 balls with three boundaries and a six to his name; whereas Tripathi scored 34 runs off 41 balls with four boundaries with the wood.
On the back of these knocks, SRH somehow managed to post a total of 121 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the first 20 overs of the match. Senior all-rounder Krunal Pandya scalped three wickets by conceding only 18 runs in his quota of four overs. Other than Amit Mishra also claimed two wickets alongside one wicket each by Yash Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi.
Later on, while chasing the target, the hosts Lucknow Super Giants comfortably crossed the line in 16 overs to win the match by five wickets. Skipper KL Rahul played a knock of 35 runs including four boundaries. Other than him, Krunal Pandya also contributed with a crucial knock of 34 runs with four boundaries and a six with the wood.
Krunal Pandya won ‘the Player of the Match award for his match-defining performance in favor of LSG for the second win in the tournament.
