India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been injured since September last year. He was making his comeback after missing the Men's Asia Cup 2022. However, after playing only one T20I, he got injured and hasn't played the game since then. Recently, it was said that the right-arm pacer won't play the ODI series against Australia. This means that Bumrah will make his comeback in the Indian T20 League 2023.

Meanwhile, in the recently-conducted sting operation by Zee Media, Indian Cricket Board chief selector Chetan Sharma revealed ghastly details about Bumrah's injury. The former said that Jasprit was unable to bend before playing the T20I game against Australia last year. Sharma added that had the selectors selected Bumrah for the 20-20 World Cup 2022, he might have gotten injured again and would have played for a year.

"Jaspirt Bumrah was unable to bend as he had a major injury other than that there are one or two players who take injections in private and says that they are fit to play.

"These are not pain killers. These injections contain drug which isn't caught in dope Test.

"Bumrah's injury was such critical that If he had played even one match of T20 WC in Aus, He would've got ruled out for at least one year.

"The players are not fit but they take injections to play. They are ready to play even at 80% fitness. They take injections and start playing," Sharma allegedly said in the leaked clips from the sting operation.
