The first Test match of the series between India and Australia has gotten off to a great start in Nagpur. The Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and went with the obvious choice to bat first on a turning track. However, the team got off to a poor start as they lost a couple of early wickets.

The Indian pace duo of Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami worked together to dismiss the Australian openers. Within the first three overs, David Warner and Usman Khawaja were both dismissed for a total of two runs.

After that, the partnership between Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne got the Australians back in the game. They joined forces to put on an 82-run third-wicket stand and were looking to pose a significant threat to the home side.

On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja was right on cue as he came to the rescue of the Indian team. He dismissed Labuschagne (49) right before he could complete his half-century, and then got the wicket of Smith as well.

He set up the Australian vice-captain really well by bowling a few off-breaks outside the off stump. Even Smith was surprised at the amount of turn Jadeja got and showed him a thumbs-up on a couple of occasions. Jadeja then bowled a brilliant straight delivery on the stumps to clean him up. Smith had 37 runs in 107 deliveries and was looking to attack at that time.

This wicket by Jadeja has gone viral over the internet as fans poured in tons of tweets. "Smith & Labuschagne were standing like wall then bulldozer Jadeja comes to clean them up with two beautiful deliveries. Awesome comeback," a fan wrote on Twitter.

The star all-rounder also got the wicket of Matt Renshaw on the very next delivery of Labuschagne's dismissal. He is returning to the Indian team after a lengthy injury and intends to make the most of it. He has been out of the Indian team since September 2022.
