RCB batting consultant Sanjay Bangar is nothing but praise for CSK cricketer Ravindra Jadeja. After Jadeja’s incredible all-rounder performance against RCB in IPL 2021, Bangar stated how Jadeja has improved over time as a batsman. The Saurashtra all-rounder smacked 62 runs off just 28 balls against RCB. Jadeja targeted RCB’s main bowler Harshal Patel in the final over of CSK’s innings. In Patel’s final over, Jadeja amassed a record 37 runs, which included 5 sixes and a boundary. The CSK all-rounder also impressed with the ball, scalping 3 wickets in 4 overs and conceding only 13 runs in total.
Bangar was the batting coach of the Indian cricket team from 2014-2019. The former Indian cricketer pointed out that Jadeja always had the backing of the Indian team management. In 2016, Jadeja started representing India in the Test format on a regular basis. Over time, Jadeja started playing better and better for India with the bat. Before Jadeja represented India in the Test format, he had already notched 3 triple centuries in domestic cricket. Hence, Bangar and the Indian team management knew Jadeja would make it big for India in the international format.
Jadeja crucial in RCB’s 1st loss in IPL 2021
RCB registered their 1st ever loss in IPL 2021 against CSK in the 19th match of IPL 2021. CSK skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and put RCB on to field first. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis got CSK off to a great start. Contributions from Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu pushed CSK’s total to 142 in 17.3 overs. Jadeja’s immaculate innings of 62 guided CSK to a total of 191. In reply, Devdutt Padikkal got RCB off to a flying start. However, prior to Padikkal’s dismissal, things started looking difficult for RCB. Jadeja dismissed the dangerous duo of Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers. Prior to de Villiers’s dismissal, RCB needed 109 runs in 55 balls, with only 4 wickets in hand. In the end, it proved too much for RCB, who lost the match by 69 runs.
With a victory over RCB, CSK now sits at the top of the IPL 2021 points table. If the Men in Yellow continue to perform in a similar fashion, they could be the 1st IPL team to qualify for the IPL 2021 playoffs.
