Royal Challengers Bangalore and Team India wicket keeper batter Dinesh Karthik discussed the three players who should be given a longer run in Tests. India is undergoing a transition in the test format after a few of the senior players of the team had to be removed and in-form youngsters were given a few chances.

The likes of KL Rahul, Mayank Aggarwal and Ajinkya Rahane were removed from the squad due to their poor form in the format over the past year and a half. Youngsters like Shubman Gill, KS Bharat, Mohammed Siraj have all been given starts and a few of them have excelled in the longest format of the game.

After India lost their second consecutive World Test Championship final, this time to Australia by a big margin of 209 runs, experts and fans have voiced out their opinions regarding the future of some players in the Test team. Younger blood who have been performing well in the IPL as well as the domestic circuit might be given chances in the upcoming series against West Indies.

Dinesh Karthik, the expert spoke on Cricbuzz regarding the three players who should be given a longer run in Test cricket after they make their debuts. The three players who the wicket keeper chose were star Rajasthan Royals batter Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mumbai’s batting maestro Sarfaraz Khan and Bengal’s swing king Mukesh Kumar. They seemed to be the wise picks as Jaiswal can be a long term prospect for the number 3 position or even open the innings for a long time for India.

Sarfaraz Khan, can be the successor of his Mumbai teammate and former Indian team vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane. Sarfaraz has been a lid above the rest of the domestic batters after scoring a truckload of runs and his name has been in the reckoning for the longest period of time. Mukesh Kumar was the rising star and one of the most lethal bowlers in the Ranji Trophy over the past two seasons. Fans are also hoping that these players make their debut soon and can be the shining light for Team India.
