Former Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar stated that Team India should not be worried about the forthcoming 5-match Test series against England. The five-match Test series against England is going to start from August 4. In his column in The Telegraph, Sunil Gavaskar opined that the Indian batters shouldn't be too concerned for the England series. He also added that the conditions would be much more favourable for batting. The last time the Indian cricket team played a Test series in England, they lost 4-1. Since 2007, Team India has toured the country thrice (2011,2014 & 2018), but failed to win any of the series.
If Anderson and Broad don't get wickets in their first spell, they'll struggle in their next spells: Sunil Gavaskar
Sunil Gavaskar stated that the Indian cricketers should not be disappointed. They should instead use this disappointment to fuel determination and bring the change in the forthcoming series. The former also reckoned that the pitches would be drier at the time. Thus, England's talismanic bowlers James Anderson and Stuart Broad might not be effective. The former batting legend also stated that if the Indian batters don't allow Anderson and Broad to take wickets with the new balls, they might struggle to pick up wickets in their following spells. India will play against England in a five-match Test series starting August 4.
Recently, New Zealand defeated India by eight wickets to win the World Test Championship (WTC) at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. The new WTC cycle will begin for the Indian team with the 5-match Test series against England, starting August 04. After the conclusion of the England series, the Indian cricket team will head to UAE for the Indian Premier League. India's second assignment in the Test Championship (2021-23) will be against defending WTC champions New Zealand at home. The series is going to take place after the conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup in November this year.
