In a short period, Jasprit Bumrah has developed as one of the top pacers in the world of cricket. Bumrah has played a crucial role in the team’s performances away from home in the last few years. In 2018, Bumrah made his Test debut in the Test series against South Africa. Since then, the seamer has played 17 Tests in South Africa, England, West Indies, New Zealand, and Australia. Bumrah was ruled out of the fourth and final Test against Australia due to injury. The pacer has returned to the squad and the fans are excited to see him finally making his Test debut in India.

For the first Test encounter against England, Team India decided to go with two pacers (Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma), and three spinners (R Ashwin, Washington Sundar and Shahbaz Nadeem), as the pitch in Chennai suits the spinners more.
