Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah

Former Indian fast bowler Lakshmipathy Balaji claimed that Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj are almost similar bowlers. His remarks come with the WTC final that is set to be played in less than a month. The final of the WTC will be played at Southampton between June 18-22. Team India and New Zealand will face each other in the final clash of the World Test Championship. Lakshmipathy Balaji praised all the three senior Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Ishant Sharma. The Chennai Super Kings bowling coach also praised Mohammed Siraj, who impressed the selection committee with his performances against Australia and England.

Both the bowlers have a lot of similarities in action, line and length, and delivery: Balaji

Jasprit Bumrah picked up 34 wickets in nine Tests in the Championship, whereas Siraj took 39 in just five games. Meanwhile, speaking about Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, Balaji stated that both are identical pacers. They have many similarities in action, line and length, and delivery.

The former Indian fast bowler also added that Bumrah and Siraj even have a similar pattern of dismissal. Balaji said that if team India can develop a common strategy for Bumrah and Siraj, then the latter could be an ideal replacement when Bumrah is injured or not available. The forthcoming ICC World Test Championship final will be Virat Kohli's first ICC trophy if he wins it. However, they will be playing against a competitive team. India has lost only once in the Championship, and that loss came against New Zealand. The Kiwis are proficient at playing in the given conditions in the UK.

Talking about Bumrah, the pacer has become one of the premium bowlers for India in such a short span. The 27-year-old has picked up 83 wickets from 19 games at a fantastic average of 22.10. Bumrah is the only Asian bowler to pick five-wicket hauls in England, South Africa, Australia, and the West Indies in Test cricket. Apart from Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammed Siraj will also be a part of India's formidable pace department for the summit clash. The Indian cricket team is scheduled to take on Kane Williamson's team in the WTC final at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on June 18. The Test series against England will take place in Nottingham, London, Leeds, and Manchester from August 4.
